This is a good, relatively inexpensive way to extend the life of hearing aids and keep them sanitized. Would give it five stars if the light bulb was guarded in some way – need to be careful not to hit it accidentally, but I soon got used to it. Large enough for multiple sets of aids, it is a practical item for the price. Be sure to compare – prices vary greatly from vendor to vendor. I am happy with this purchase.

We buy these for my daughter’s cochlear implant. We’re on our third unit in four years.

I have been using this Dry Box everyday for several years and it stopped working. Upon inspection I found the flat cable between the cover and the top dried out and all the fine wires in the cable broke. It is a good product but don’t expect it to last to long. Marty

I have been using this product for about one month now and it seems to be working quite well. It may be my imagination, but it does however seem that my batteries are not lasting as long as they used to (could be as much as a day less). I have not tried to remove the batteries before placing the units into the dryer, but it should not be necessary. It is a pain to handle those little size 10 batteries and I would rather just leave them in regardless.
The lid seems to be a bit ‘top heavy’ and when you have the aids in one hand it could be a bit of an effort to open the box with the other. I’ve also had the lid fall back a couple of times and it makes quite a thump, so I would imagine that something could break eventually.
The disposable block thingy is just over halfway on the indicator, which is on par with the manufacturer estimate of 2 month life. I would have preferred to have something re-usable.
The fan circulating the warm air is audible, and even though my hearing is not great, I find it annoying. My wife is audio sensitive and she complained the first night, so I had to move it into the next room, making it a bit inconvenient.
I would suggest this unit as it seems to dry the aids really well in the very humid climate I live in. I cannot comment on the effectivenes of the light, but if they say it kills the germs, I guess thats what it does.

The Dry and Store disinfects and dehumidifies your hearing aids, which will make them last longer and work better.
Disinfection is accomplished by the UV light in the lid, which runs for a few minutes after you press the button to start the cycle. Then for the next 8 hours, a small fan circulates air past the hearing aids and the Dry-Brik. The Dry-Brik is an important part of the process – it contains a dessicant which sucks moisture out of that circulating air.
At the end of the cycle, your hearing aids are disinfected and dry throughout. Wax buildups will flake off effortlessly. And your hearing aids will smell fresh.
You have to replace the Dry-Brik every two months. Optionally you can order a small tin of dessicant beads which you can recharge by baking in the oven.
All in all, the Dry and Store is a well built device. I am happy with all aspects of it save one: the lid. Because the lid houses a lightbulb and reflector, it’s almost as heavy as the rest of the box. Which wouldn’t be an issue, except that the hinge only allows the lid to move through a 90 degree arc – it stops when it is vertical. The problem is that the box will not stay open unless you are holding the lid with one hand. It would have been nice to open the lid, remove hearing aids, place in box, close lid. But since the lid must be held open, and removing the aids is a two handed operation, that would require three hands. I only have two, drat the luck!
Also, the ‘Global’ model is designed to travel with you. So, it would be nice if the wall-wart would fit inside the unit during travel. But it doesn’t. Oh, well.
These are minor nitpicks to be sure, and I wouldn’t mention them at all if they couldn’t so easily have been fixed during the design phase!
Even with this caveat, your hearing aids probably cost you thousands of dollars. The Dry and Store is the best way of keeping them in tip-top shape (and yes, I have tried other, equivalent products). I recommend it.
