Hearing Aid

Bad news, for the past month I have had such bad hearing in my good right ear and it has been so hard for me that I cried :'( I hated not being able to hear well, it was like being deaf in both ears but all i heard was loud mumbling. So my mom and I have been taking many trips to doctor's offices and I'm getting my MRI this week on Thursday (eye roll). So I have a surprise!!! Take a look... PS this is the first video that I actually look good in icon wink Hearing Aid haha

You can so tell you can’t hear too good with the new HA out cos you get louder, so that’s a definite vote of confidence for the Dot.

@Geegerz825 it was about 1 PM :) I had a small hearing aid too but i’m not sure what it was called. I must check if I have some pictures. It was helpful while my hearing until my hearing curve got worse. :)

@Geegerz825 I was online around that time when you commented so I looked to see who commented :) I’m from Austria – Europe. I have now a cochlear implant, an electrode inside my ear and hear very good with it but it took me long to make the decision :) good night sleep well :) we’ll chat soon!

@MyTrueStory85 Hey how did you write back so fast?! What country do you live in? I’m in California, US and it’s 1 AM!! haha i know a little late and i should go to sleep. But now i get what your saying. What is a CI and an electrode?

@Geegerz825 Hi there, I had a phonak savia then another one bigger, which was also from phonak. It helped me to hear but after the second hearing loss it wasn’t helpful anymore. I had the hearing aid in my ear but I felt as it if was useless. That was the time when I had my hearing loss and when I agreed for the CI. I had to undergo two surgeries within a week yeah crazy.. but my electrode made a tip foldover, so I had the choice to use the remaining functioning electrodes or let them do again..

@deafculture17 UGH! I know what you mean!! same with me!! I forgot my hearing aid today actually for shcool….sucked for about 4 hrs at school and the rest of the day because I had to go to the doctor’s for an MRI and didn’t have my hearing aid then either. I can read lips though which helps but the person obviously needs to be facing me.

@whatevgirl101 I am deaf 90 in my left ear and 50 in my right from Endolymphatic Hydrops. But I think my hearing just got better in the right (because it fluctuates) but I haven’t had an audiogram since like the beginning of the year….but it should be at like 40-30

@MyTrueStory85 Wow that’s a lot of info to like transfer in my brain but I also have processing issues if you don’t mind….but WOW. You’ve been through a lot like me but I’ve only been deaf in my left ear when I was born and had a hearing loss from Endolymphatic Hydrops in my right ear in 6th grade and it is now better I think. I need another audiogram. What hearing aids did you have in order?

I had a tiny hearing aid too but then my hearing was fluctuating over the years and I got another hearing loss and needed a stronger one so I got a big hearing aid. I had an acute hearing loss this year in February and then decided to go for the CI. It was an up and down all the way as I was bothered by insecurities whether or not I should get it. I couldn’t make up my mind as I did hear a bit later when my hearing curve recovered but it was poor. Right now I have a CI and hear pretty well. :)

I have the Starkey S IQ open fit hearing aid in my left ear only and without a hearing aid I can hear people but their speech sound so bad which i cant understand at all

my computer is being stupid and so Im glad you have a good description. I have a really good ear but the other one, my left one is terrible. more than half deaf. I am getting a hearing aid next week. they molded it… (shivers)
